Knittng…that is all.

With my degree i was interested in recycled leather and materials. With alterations i have decided to use recycled brown paper bags. Eco friendly and reusable. :)

First Alterations flooding in…currrently working my way through 11 maxi dresses for the lovely Manda, who is heading away on holiday next month and unfortunately is not as tall as the maxi dresses she has purchased.

Nearly done.

And just ordered some lovely ECO recycled brown paper bags to send the altered garments back in. I think its always nice to receive an altered garment back as if its a new gift.

BESPOKE DESIGNS AND GARMENT ALTERATIONS

I designed my own Business cards and had them printed through Vistaprint.co.uk.
The company work on the basis that the more you use them for your printing, the more discount you get, so worth the fees in the beginning.
I am lucky enough to have an older sister who owns a mobile hairdressing business and has her own salon and she has agreed for me to display my cards in the salon so distribution will be better and to a wide range of people.
I have high hopes for this small start in Fashion, ideally in five to ten years i would love to have my own boutique or be in a strong buying role within Fashion.
For anyone reading this who is in a degree in Fashion right now, believe me, its not easy to spring out of uni and into work. The key is to keep yourself motivated and keep working on your own projects and designs. DON’T GIVE UP!

By using this image of mine, recognised by people of Colchester as an promo image for Colchester Institute, i am starting my own
BESPOKE DESIGNS AND GARMENT ALTERATIONS.
I have already had a lot of interest from friends, family and third parties. So i have decided that this could be a good starting point for development of my designs, ideas and skills. To further my experience and add to my c.v.
I have realised in the year i have been graduated that Fashion is an unbelievably hard Industry to crack into and you have to get yourself noticed to give yourself a chance. I do believe that sometimes success is down to luck and right time/right place. I’m holding out for my chance and not giving up on my motivation and passion to be successful in this Industry.

We had a really productive day and im really looking forward to getting the images back on tuesday!! Big thanks to Emily, Katie, Dulcie and Sophie.
